Armchair with adjustable armrests
In the original Paolo Castelli Calla chair by Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni, the armrests are bent, thus we can change the shape of the chair depending on our mood. Stefano Giovannoni is one of the founders of bolides – a movement that originated in the eighties of the XX century and dictated streamlined forms in design. Stefano Giovannoni studied architecture at the University of Florence: “There, in those years, the concept of radical architecture was born, which created a completely new language and way of expression in Italian design. It was a whole movement that sent all the rules to hell, gave a new vision to designers and architects. On the one hand, my background was formed by radical architects: Sottsass, Mendini, Branzi … On the other hand, when I was young, I read all of Jean Baudrillard, and I was very fascinated by his market and consumerist theories.”
Double chair
This Christopher Guy Empetre model consists of two chairs on a wooden frame with oval backs. The backs, like links in a chain, are interconnected. Thanks to the non-rigid fixation of the backs, the chairs can be positioned at different angles relative to each other. The hind legs are coquettishly crossed, which is the designer’s trademark. This idea was inspired by Christopher Guy’s memories of the crossed legs of French ballerinas. “Our success lies in unpredictability, and risk is an integral component that helps us to develop and move forward, creating new unique products, ” says the designer. Christopher Guy himself defines his style as “a combination of symbolism and composition. A design that combines sophistication and sophistication, classicism and modernity.” Christopher Guy, British by birth, was brought up in Spain and France, hence the cosmopolitanism of his work and lifestyle. He lives in Singapore, where Christopher Guy’s headquarters are located. Manufacturing is located on the island of Java, with a sales office and showroom in the United States.
Clothespin bench
An unusual bench made of solid cedar is made in the shape of a clothespin. The designers Paolo & Michela Baldessari talk about the model: “The Molletta Bench, playing on the typical non-standard quality of pop art, gives a very natural interpretation of cedarwood. He actively develops the concept of technological culture in its entire range of values: the use of renewable energy sources, innovative production processes, recycling. Angelo believes that technological research, which will serve human health and nature, is the key to achieving environmental sustainability.
Cork bar stool
The stylish Bouchon chair on a metal base, with a cork seat, resembles a sparkling wine cork. What an obvious, at first glance, but no less striking and original solution! The author of the object – Radice Orlandini – believes that a synthesis of irony and functionality is essential in design. Each of the pieces of furniture he created reflects the highlighted characteristics, combining emotionality and aesthetics.
Bench illusion
The Moroso factory is famous for its creative approach to design. In the catalog, you can find many extravagant sofas in bright upholstery. The exterior of the Soft Wood sofa is reminiscent of a simple garden bench, hastily hammered together from rough pine planks. However, deliberate negligence is just a concept and an optical illusion, in reality, the model is particularly soft and incredibly comfortable. The upholstery is digitally printed textiles that give the illusion of untreated wood.
