Netflix has dropped the official Lover, Stalker, Killer trailer for its newest true crime documentary, which revolves around another online dating gone wrong scenario.

The video introduces Dave, whose online dating journey turns into a nightmare. After finally finding the perfect match for him, he unexpectedly gets dragged into a chaotic love triangle situation when one of the women he briefly dated starts acting dangerously possessive over him. The documentary film is slated to start streaming on February 9.

Lover, Stalker, Killer is directed by Sam Hobkinson (Fear City: New York vs The Mafia). It is executive produced by Dov Freedman and Charlie Russell, with Sophie Clayton-Payne serving as a producer. It is a production by Curious Films (Running with the Devil).

Netflix will release a documentary titled Open Wide this month, showcasing the unconventional practices of a 96-year-old orthodontist named John Mew. In addition to John, it will feature his son, Mike Mew, as they join hands to revolutionize mainstream orthodontics.

According to Variety, the father-son introduced the world to a technique called “mewing.” Even though it isn’t scientifically proven, the technique involves lifting the patient’s jawline. Furthermore, it is said to improve a person’s sleep and relieve them from pain.

The official synopsis of Open Wide reads, “John Mew has waged a lonely war against the industry — and that teenage rite of passage, braces, for decades. With his son Mike now taking up the fight, the Mews’ fringe theories have turned into a full-blown online sensation.”

It further reads, “But even while mewing goes viral on TikTok and the Mews churn out content for their millions of followers, Mike is pursued by the British Orthodontic Society and threatened with expulsion by the very people who took away his father’s license.”

Directed by Sara Goldblatt, Open Wide will be available to watch on the OTT platform on January 23, 2024. The documentary has been produced by A24, Cristina Costantini, and Darren Foster of Muck Media.

According to WebMD, the idea behind mewing is to transform the shape of one’s jawline. However, there is no scientific research behind this. Moreover, experts say that this technique will not lead to any significant or permanent change.

I was drawn to the two men because of the controversy surrounding their unorthodox beliefs, and discovered a story about family and legacy and why we care about the things we care about. Alexander: The Making of a God’s trailer pulls back the curtain on the Netflix historical docudrama, which examines the legendary titular figure.

The project promises to reveal the “extraordinary life of Alexander the Great”, per the official synopsis. In particular, it will track his rise from an exiled young man and his growing obsession with defeating the Persian Emperor Darius. This led him to “conquer the known world in just under six years.”

The story will be told through dramatic scenes and expert academic insights in addition to ground-breaking archaeology and ongoing excavations at the archaeological site in Alexandria, Egypt led by Calliope Limneos-Papakosta.

Richie further stated, “I’m at Michael’s house trying to write ‘We Are the World’ and his dog is barking and his Mynah bird is yelling ‘Shut up’ [repeatedly at the dog]. I see albums falling over. I look again and see more falling over and there’s an albino python [coming toward me].”

He ended his statement by saying, “I will admit I was screaming like a white woman. Michael goes, ‘Oh my God, Lionel. There he is, he wants to play with you.’ I know you want a spiritual tale about how we brought this song you, but that’s how it was for three days.”

The latest Netflix documentary Man on the Run, which released on January 5, 2024, showcases a shocking tale of corruption and betrayal. Interestingly, the man under the spotlight is a mysterious Malaysian businessman named Jho Low.

Low is an international fugitive wanted by authorities for his involvement in the infamous 1MDB scandal. A sovereign wealth fund, the 1MDB was established in 2009 to help Malaysian citizens. However, according to Deadline, Low and former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak devised a scheme to exploit this fund. In 2015, journalist Clare Rewcastle-Brown received leaked financial documents that set off a global investigation.

Reportedly, large sums of money were being funneled into international bank accounts, which helped Jho Low lead a lavish life. Furthermore, Low acquired expensive properties, a private jet, a super-yacht, partied with famous personalities, and dated supermodels. Jho Low has also been dubbed the “Asian Great Gatsby.” Deadline reports that he even financed Martin Scorsese’s 2013 blockbuster The Wolf of Wall Street.

Now, Netflix is going to document his life and bring it to the streaming platform users. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the synopsis of the documentary reads, “MAN ON THE RUN exposes a shocking true story of corruption and betrayal that shook an entire nation’s financial stability. Man on the Run on Netflix: Where was Jho Low last seen?

As mentioned earlier, Jho Low is wanted by international authorities for charges like money laundering and fraud. He is reportedly hiding in China. According to Al Jazeera, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recently stated that they believe Low is in Macau.

Their statement mentioned the people involved in the 1MDB case, saying that MACC “believes the individuals wanted for the 1MDB case, especially Jho Low, are hiding in Macau.” The statement further said, “This was also confirmed by several individuals who have seen Jho Low in Macau.”

Authorities recently arrested another 1MDB suspect named Kee Kok Thiam. However, MACC officers did not find any charges against him “at this time” and let him go. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for his role in the entire ordeal.

A recent Deadline report revealed that Razak’s lawyers were trying to remove Man on the Run from Netflix. His lawyers have described the documentary as “subjudicial and contemptuous” content.

However, its director, Cassius Michael Kim, stated, “Censorship is the tool of the oppressor. The former prime minister’s claims that he was misled by me are patently false and echo his words from our interview in the film, in which he repeatedly states that — during the 1MDB scandal — he was misled by all those around him in government. While he was a mere unknowing puppet. I look forward to a brighter future for the Malaysian people.”

Najib Razak was born on July 23, 1953, and served as Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2009 to 2018. His father, Abdul Razak Hussein, was the prime minister of the country from 1970 to 1976. Netflix’s American Nightmare examines Denise Huskins’s story, which is eerily similar to the famous “Gone Girl” book. The three-part docuseries will premiere on January 17, 2024, on the streaming service.

According to People Magazine, in March 2015, armed intruders wearing scuba suits allegedly broke into Denise Huskins’ boyfriend Aaron Quinn’s Vallejo, California, home. There, the intruders allegedly terrorized the couple before kidnapping Huskins and taking her captive to a remote location. The abductor allegedly drugged and raped her.

Two days later, on March 25, they released Huskins. Following her release, police questioned the couple’s account, casting doubt on them. Soon, the press dubbed their case as the “Gone Girl” kidnapping.

A press release said, the series “is a damning indictment of the confirmation bias too often at play in our criminal justice system.” American Nightmare is co-directed by Bernadette Higgins and Felicity Morris.

People Magazine reported that in March 2015, Denise Huskins and her boyfriend, Aaron Quinn, were asleep at the latter’s house when armed intruders broke into the home. The intruders were allegedly wearing scuba suits. They bound the couple with zip ties and forced them into a closet. After this, the intruders drugged and blindfolded them with blacked-out goggles. They claimed to be a part of an organized group that collected financial debt.

The intruders planned to kidnap Huskins and return her after her boyfriend, a physical therapist, paid a ransom. They kept her captive in a remote location, where the abductor drugged and raped her twice. They released Huskins two days later, on March 25, near her mother’s Huntington Beach home.

New York Post stated that in the meantime, Aaron Quinn reported Huskins’ abduction to the police. Quinn claimed he received an e-mail from the kidnappers demanding a ransom of $17,000. But, instead of believing his account, detectives suspected his involvement in what they thought was Huskins’ murder. They insisted that his story was too far-fetched, stripped him naked for police photographs, and interrogated him for 18 hours. They also gave him a lie detector test.

Quinn told The Post in 2021, “I always thought police officers were there to protect the general public. But I found out how quickly the justice system can turn on you. The amount of pressure these professionals are trained to put on you is terrifying. They have sheer tunnel vision and absolute certainty that you’re lying.”

Following Denise Huskins’ release, the press dubbed the case the “Gone Girl” kidnapping, after Gillian Flynn’s famous book. In 2021, Huskins, then 38, also spoke to the outlet and said, “When my attorney told me they were calling me ‘Gone Girl’ in the headlines, I asked: ‘Is that a good thing?'” She claimed to have never seen the movie and added, “Then I realized what they meant, and it was just so insulting.”

People‘s report stated that Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn finally found justice three months after the alleged incident. In June 2015, police investigating a masked intruder case 40 miles away in Alameda County found evidence connected to the couple’s claims. They found the evidence in possession of Matthew Muller, a former Marine and disbarred Harvard-educated attorney.

In 2016, Muller pleaded guilty to one count of federal kidnapping, receiving a 40-year prison term. Additionally, he faced state charges such as kidnapping, two counts of rape by force, robbery, and burglary. However, in November 2020, he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

The outlet further stated that the couple, both physical therapists, sued the City of Vallejo for defamation and won a $2.5 million settlement in 2018.

Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent and content development for CNN Worldwide, released a statement that said, “At a time when women were finding the courage to leave their domestic roles to seek careers in male-dominated fields, Martha built her empire in the home, redefining what it meant to be a feminist in the modern era.”

Netflix will release a documentary titled American Nightmare, which will take a closer look at the infamous kidnapping of Denise Huskins. A case reminiscent of David Fincher’s thriller Gone Girl involved the police force not believing the victim’s accounts of the incident.

The couple under the spotlight are Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn. On the night of March 23, 2015, a couple of scuba suit-wearing intruders stormed into the pair’s Vallejo, California, home while they were asleep. Furthermore, they tied Denise and Aaron up and shoved them into a closet. The intruders then drugged and blindfolded them and stated that they belonged to a group that collected financial debt.

They added that they were kidnapping Denise and would only return her once Aaron paid a ransom. Denise’s abductor then took her to a remote location where she was drugged and raped twice. The kidnappers released her on March 25, 2015, two days after the incident. Disney+ has dropped the official Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó trailer for the upcoming documentary short hailing from Taiwanese-American filmmaker Sean Wang.

The film had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award. The Oscar-shortlisted film will be available for streaming in February 2024.

Before meeting Sharma, Ray Trapani tried to get rich by taking part in illegal operations. However, when his plan failed, he and his two former classmates began a legitimate business. His venture rented luxury vehicles to the richest people in Miami. Unfortunately, due to their irresponsible spending habits, his company fell into debt and turned into a massive failure. At one point in his life, he fell into deep depression and even contemplated taking away his life.

The CW documentary titled I Am Burt Reynolds takes a look at the illustrious yet complicated life of American actor Burt Reynolds. Having premiered on December 31, 2023, the documentary is directed by Adrian Buitenhuis.

Born on February 11, 1936, the actor rose to fame in the 70s and gradually became a cultural icon. He started gaining recognition for starring in several TV series in the 60s. However, Reynolds’ portrayal of Lewis Medlock in Deliverance in 1972 proved to be a game changer. Besides that, he went on to star in several box office hits, including Navajo Joe, White Lightning, The Longest Yard, Hooper, and The Cannonball Run, among others. In most of his movies, he played a lovable rogue—a role that struck a chord with cinema lovers.

From the years 1978 to 1982, Burt Reynolds was voted the world’s number one box-office star. Even though he appeared in many box office failures in the early 90s, he made an epic comeback on television in by starring in the sitcom Evening Shade. For his portrayal of Woodrow “Wood” Newton in the show, he received a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. Moreover, in 1997, his role in Boogie Nights received critical attention.

Before stepping into acting, Burt Reynolds was known as a skilled high school footballer and enjoyed popularity in his hometown—West Palm Beach. He even went on to represent Florida State University. However, he could not pursue football professionally due to a serious knee injury. This made him get into West Palm Beach Junior College, where he discovered his love for drama and acting.

As for his personal life, Loni Anderson reportedly shared that Burt Reynolds always wanted to become a father. Thus, he was thrilled when they adopted Quinton. However, according to Quinton, Reynolds showed his love with gifts instead of physical affection. Anderson even said that she was unaware that her husband was planning on divorcing her. Prior to the commencement of the filming of Nurses, Reynolds allegedly confessed to loving her before he handed her the divorce papers. The couple then fought for Quinton’s custody in court.

According to People, Burt Reynolds was financially irresponsible and went bankrupt in 1996. In a 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, the actor said, “I’ve still done well in terms of owning property and things like that. But I haven’t been somebody who’s been smart about his money.”

On September 6, 2018, Burt Reynolds died due to a heart attack at the age of 82. He was reportedly going to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
