The Exorcist: Deceiver release date has been delayed as it has been taken off Universal Pictures’ upcoming release calendar.

The news comes alongside the departure of director David Gordon Green, who directed 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer and was set to helm the rebooted trilogy like he did for Halloween. Now, a search is on for a new director for the upcoming installment by Universal and Blumhouse. It was originally set to be released on April 18, 2025.

Green will stay busy, though, as he’s currently working on the movie Nutcrackers with Ben Stiller and on The Righteous Gemstones Season 4.

What was The Exorcist: Believer about?

“Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding has raised their daughter, Angela on his own,” reads the synopsis. “But when Angela and her friend Katherine, disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.”

The Exorcist: Believer is the direct sequel to the original horror feature, which was adapted from William Peter Blatty’s novel. David Gordon Green directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Teems, Danny McBride, and Peter Sattler. The film sees the return of Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn, who was joined by Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Raphael Sbarge, and Jennifer Nettles, with newcomers Lidya Jewett and Olivia Marcum.

The sequel was produced by Jason Blum, David Robinson, and James Robinson, with Green, McBride, Couper Samuelson, and Stephanie Allain having executive produced. It was a co-production between Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Production.

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke with The Bricklayer star Nina Dobrev about the intense action movie. The actress discussed her chemistry with co-star Aaron Eckhart, her character, and much more. The film is now available digitally and through video-on-demand platforms.

“The Bricklayer follows a rogue insurgent blackmailing the CIA by assassinating foreign journalists and making it appear the agency is responsible,” reads the movie‘s synopsis. “As other nations begin turning against the U.S., the CIA must lure Steve Vail (Eckhart) – their most brilliant and rebellious operative – out of retirement. With an elite and deadly skill set, Vail is tasked with helping clear the agency’s name, forcing him to confront his checkered past while unraveling an international conspiracy.”

Tyler Treese: Congrats on The Bricklayer. I really like that your character, Kate, is very capable. She’s on this mission, but she’s not a damsel in distress or anything. She’s moving the plot along. What did you like most about this character?

Nina Dobrev: Thank you for saying that. Yeah, the film is exciting, it’s action-packed. It’s one of those movies that’s pure entertainment and it’s pure fun. I was personally drawn to Kate as a character for a lot of reasons. One of the main ones is that I haven’t gotten to play a character like this before. I call it my ‘big girl role’ ’cause she’s a young professional. She is similar to me in a lot of ways. I am very meticulous. I like rules, I like schedules, and I like having a plan kinda like Kate does.

So it was fun for me to explore and play around with the dynamic of putting this like very OCD sort of anal retentive kind of rule follower with a maverick rule breaker. I thought that dynamic was really interesting. And I also loved the arc. She starts off as one person and then throughout her journey, really by the end of the film is a completely different person. And you’re sort of surprised by the decision that she makes at the end. .

There is a lot of action in The Bricklayer. But it also lets the story breathe, and there are some really good character moments spread throughout. What did you like most about that kind of combination?

Renny Harlan is a master at his craft. He’s a very prolific action film director and shot this really beautifully. The editing’s really good. It, it flows, it moves. But like you said, it’s not just explosion after explosion to the point where you’re just nauseous and numb to it. That’s the other thing I didn’t notice until we finished the film. We get really beat up. Like, we’re real people. Aaron is a retired CIA operative of a certain age, and he gets hurt in the movie. We show that, and we see the cuts, and the bruises, and then he has a limp.

In the next scene, he’s like a little bit slower than the last fight. ’cause he had a little bit less energy. And so, it feels more grounded than most action movies I’ve seen. It’s not a Marvel movie where they just bounce back really fast, and then you get desensitized. You really follow these characters, and you can see yourself going through their journey. They feel more like real people in a lot of ways.

It’s my character’s first time in the field. She’s not like gonna be like a Lara Croft action connoisseur. She’s actually fighting and freezes at one point. She doesn’t do what she was trained to do in the real moment.

I love how you and Aaron Eckhart don’t get along very well at first. Then you wind up pretending to be a husband and wife for a section. What stood out about just working with him and playing off that?

Yeah, it was really fun to sort of have that tension between the two characters. As I mentioned, that’s one of the main reasons why I was sort of drawn to the character. I’ve been a fan from afar for a really long time. So I was really excited at the opportunity to get to work with him and to sort of watch these two characters. Like you said, they don’t get along at the beginning and grow to appreciate and respect one another in their own weird way. By the end of the film are quite fond of each other.

I’m always curious to hear about prep because it differs so greatly from actor to actor. And this is based on a novel by Paul Lindsay. I was curious if you did read the book or if you just prefer to go off what’s there in the script?

I definitely read the books. I also read another book, because I just wanted a little bit more context into the young woman who enters the CIA. There’s another woman, Amarillo Fox, who wrote about her real-life experience of being recruited at a very young age, right out of college. I felt like Kate had a lot of similarities, a lot of parallels, to that experience. So it was sort of like a mishmash for me between the two novels.

In 2012, you were in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Over time, that film has just gotten such a bigger audience, and people really appreciate it. How has it felt to see people flock to the film and it becoming more popular as time passes?

It’s pretty wild. I get a lot of people that approach me about that movie. The story’s so universal, and whether you’re an adult, an older person, or a teen, we all went through puberty and had our coming-of-age moment. That’s what the movie’s about — sort of becoming a young adult and making that transition. It just deals with so many different themes. It’s a really great adaptation of a novel because the writer and director both captured the essence, the energy, and the beauty of the book and really translated it into the screen.

One of your earliest roles was in Degrassi: The Next Generation. Getting that much screen time and that much experience at 17 and 18, how do you feel that kind of really set you up for success? You’ve had such a great career since then, and it’s unusual to get that much time early on.

I was very naive and didn’t really realize how lucky I was at the time. But it was kind of like a mini bootcamp in a way. I was so green, I was so new. I really didn’t know what a mark was, or where to stand, or what eyelines were, where to look… how to do anything, really!

I learned everything on that show. It taught me and gave me that foundation — and that experience — on set that I needed to later lead a show of my own. I don’t think I would’ve been able to do it or do it as well as I did. I think I would’ve been a lot more overwhelmed if I hadn’t had that prior experience.

The Mickey 17 release date is no longer March 29, 2024, as Warner Bros. announced a delay for the film today.

Warner Bros. announced today that the Robert Pattinson-led film is now undated. Pattinson will be joined by Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. There is no word yet on when the new Mickey 17 release date will be set for Bong Joon-Ho’s latest movie.

What is Mickey 17 about?

The project will be based on Edward Ashton’s Mickey7 novel. It is being written and directed by Bong Joon-ho. Producers are Bong for Offscreen, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B, and Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company.

The Mickey7 novel centers around an Expendable, which the synopsis describes as “a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous — even suicidal — the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal … and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.”

This marks Pattinson’s first project following the successful theatrical release of The Batman, which saw his debut as DC’s newest version of the Dark Knight. He is expected to reprise his role as the superhero in the forthcoming sequel, which was announced during CinemaCon.

The Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire release date has been shifted once again by Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment, although now fans won’t have to wait until April to watch it.

What is the new Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire release date?

The Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire release date is now set for March 29, 2024. This sees the monster movie move up from its previous date of April 12, 2024. It was originally set to come out on March 15, 2024, so it’s been shifted back and is now closer to the original date. Directed by Adam Wingard, the movie will star Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, and Daniel Stevens.

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the sequel to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which had the two titans clash with one another. It will be the latest movie in the MonsterVerse and is produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, Brian Rogers, Thomas Tull, and Jon Jashni.

A new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire release date has been set by Sony Pictures.

What is the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire release date?

The new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire release date is March 22, 2024. It was originally set for a March 29 release, so it has moved up exactly one week.

“In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is being directed by Gil Kenan from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Reitman. The next chapter in the Spengler family story will also feature the return of the main cast, including Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and Mckenna Grace, who was the first cast member to confirm her return.

Made under the working title “Firehouse,” the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel marks the fifth theatrically released movie in the Ghostbusters franchise following 1984’s Ghostbusters, 1989’s Ghostbusters II, 2016’s Ghostbusters (which is a reboot with a separate continuity), and 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Season 2 is expected to be based on Naughty Dog’s acclaimed video game sequel The Last of Us Part II, which will feature a significant time jump introducing a now grown-up Ellie.

Season 1 also featured Nico Parker, Anna Torv, Melanie Lynskey, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, and Storm Reid. It also included guest-star appearances from the original video game’s actors Jeffrey Pierce, Merle Dandridge, Troy Baker, and Ashley Johnson as new characters.

Scream 7 will no longer be directed by Christopher Landon, as the director announced his departure in a statement today. The Freaky and We Have a Ghost director’s exit comes after the departure of Jenna Ortega and the firing of Melissa Barrera. No replacement has been named yet for the upcoming horror movie.

“I guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited Scream 7 weeks ago. This will disappoint some and delight others,” wrote Landon on X. “It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart did break for everyone involved. Everyone. But it’s time to move on. I have nothing more to add to the conversation other than I hope Wes’ legacy thrives and lifts above the din of a divided world. What he and Kevin created is something amazing, and I was honored to have even the briefest moment basking in their glow.”

What is the status of Scream 7 without Jenna Ortega?

As of now, it’s unclear exactly what the status of the next entry in the Scream franchise is. There’s currently no script or schedule for the next movie in the popular horror series as of late 2023.

Alongside Barrera, the most recent two entries have starred Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding as the four main members of the new era of Scream. With Barrera and Ortega not returning, it seems the group will be fairly different in the next installment.

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke with The Gilded Age star Morgan Spector about the HBO drama series. The actor spoke about his character’s demeanor and his thoughts on method acting. The season finale of The Gilded Age airs on HBO on Sunday, December 17.

“In Season 2 of The Gilded Age, Bertha inches toward a leading role in society, Marian starts teaching, Ada begins a new courtship, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit,” reads the new season’s synopsis.

Tyler Treese: The characters of George and Bertha have really just resonated with viewers. What’s most rewarding about seeing it really connect with fans? They start theorizing, and you can just tell how invested they are in your performances and in the writing.

Morgan Spector: Yeah, there’s no question. It’s satisfying because it feels like … on one level, it means that the audience has been able to get immersed in the world and that means that they’re getting pleasure from it. And I think that’s what our show is trying to do, is just give people an old-fashioned good time. If speculating about what we’re going to do and thinking about us is enjoyable, if it’s pleasurable, I think that means we’ve done our jobs and that’s all we’re trying to do, here, at the end of the day.

Carrie Coon’s phenomenal in the show, and you guys are great onscreen together. Can you speak about how your working relationship has evolved? You’ve done two seasons now — that’s a lot of onscreen time.

Well, Carrie is naturally extremely violent, and so early on, when we worked together, she would just be hitting me constantly, and it was, something we actually had to deal with offset. But since then, it’s actually been cool. We’ve managed to work through our differences more peacefully. But actually, I had worked with her before for a couple of days. We did a very strange short film by a director named Robin Comisar about people who get trapped in a 30-second Red Lobster commercial. At one point in the movie, she cuts off my tongue with a butter knife, so we already had a certain working rapport, which I think has served us very well in this world.

I feel very fortunate because my character, George, I think deeply admires and respects his wife, and that is the foundation for their partnership. He supports her ambitions and wants nothing more than to see her achieve her wildest dreams. Actually, the way I think about Carrie is not dissimilar. I have tremendous admiration and respect for her as an actor and as a person. I feel like my job in the scene is just to help her and help us do the thing as best we can can. It’s easy when the objectives of the character and the objectives of the actor overlap in that way. So yeah, she makes it all easy.

We’ve seen, in recent episodes, George is one to keep his secrets, but there’s almost an understanding there. She’s aware that there are going to be secrets and she doesn’t ask too many questions. Can you speak to that understanding they have and that dynamic?

I think they do deeply trust each other. That’s why the rift at the beginning of the season was so shocking for both of them. With that said, they each have their domains. I mean, the world of society is Bertha’s domain and the world of business is George’s and I think she doesn’t need to know too much about his domain and he doesn’t need to know too much about hers. But there are places where those worlds overlap and I think that’s where they have potential conflicts and struggles.

But yes, I think the unspoken secret of George and Bertha’s success together is that his money and power undergird everything and I don’t think that he really wants to lord that over her. He wants to let her have as much autonomy and agency as she can. So when he can conceal that fact, I think he does, and I think it’s one of his more gracious qualities.

There are so many interesting themes related to the time period in the show. Just this season, we’ve seen the working conditions and the labor situation. I was just curious if this has really made you into a history buff, because I find myself going on these deep dives on Wikipedia and other sites.

That’s great! When we started getting into this labor history, that was precisely my hope, was that people would get excited about the show and then be curious. “Does this have a real-life analog? What were these labor struggles really like?” Because I think these are some of the most crucial American stories and I don’t think that, broadly speaking, we are familiar enough with them. U.S. Labor history is really the bloodiest history in the world.

The things that we now take for granted as worker protections — eight-hour days, weekends, child labor laws — all of these things were fought for and died for by a not insignificant number of people over decades. These were long fights. They were bloody fights, and I think that history is understudied and underappreciated. I think it’s really important stuff. So to the extent that we’ve inspired those internet rabbit holes, I’m really thrilled to hear that.

I was curious what your thoughts are on the fashion of the era, because you get to look quite dapper. You’re dressed quite comfortably now — I assume it’s a lot more work when you’re getting into the big suits for the show. How has it been, getting dressed up all the time for the show?

It’s fun. I think if actors are honest, part of what brings us to this career is this fascination with playing dress-up because there’s something amazing about putting on clothes that you yourself would never wear, and all of a sudden, you feel a little bit like a different person. When you put on these clothes that nobody really has worn for a hundred-and-some-odd years, you really do feel like … we wear these high collars that … automatically affects your posture. It makes it so you can’t slouch into it. Your bearing suddenly changes. These clothes actually, in many ways, they’re very comfortable because they’re completely custom-made for me, which is an unusual thing for me.

I’m not used to wearing clothes like that. So in that way, they’re incredible. Kasia [Walicka-Maimone] and Patrick [Wiley] have really made it so these clothes tell a story about who we are. My clothes are always in gray, like deep dark blacks and grays and blues — the color of iron, the color of the railroad, the colors of steel. That’s very deliberate and that’s about creating an atmosphere around this character that tells us who he fundamentally. But I have to say, it is more fun seeing what the ladies get to wear because the dresses are more of a venue for spectacular for Kasia’s spectacular brilliance.

From a filming perspective, doing a a period piece like this — how immersed can you get into feeling like you’re back in time? There’s so much equipment there when you’re filming and so much technology, but the sets are so great and it really feels like it when you’re watching.

I think the fun of playing a character that’s very different from you is being able to move in and out at will. I know some people really like to stay in a character. They like to stay in an accent, they like to stay in a period. For me, that has just never made sense. It’s more about … [Laughs]. I don’t know, the idea of going back to my dressing room and FaceTiming my kid and still pretending that it’s the 19th century … it just doesn’t track for me. I think we have these amazing sets. We have these amazing buildings. We often shoot in locations that really feel … one of the great things about working on a show with this kind of production value is you walk into the space and it feels like the space and everything that’s in that thing is exactly what should be there.

You just interact with all of it as you naturally would and it looks like it’s the 19th century, right? I don’t know. I’m relying on the power of montage and the ability of the audience to suspend their disbelief to a large extent.

Julian Fellowes has wonderfully written every single episode of this series, and we don’t see that a ton in TV where it’s one author throughout and we see his hands on every element. How rewarding has that been, having that relationship where you know who’s writing your character and you’ve gotten to see a very consistently written character throughout because of that?

I’ve worked on shows before where one writer has this very heavy hand in terms of crafting the voice of each character and the voice of the show. And I’ve worked on shows where the tone isn’t maintained in quite as disciplined a way. I want to definitely give Sonja Warfield her credit. She is the other writer on the show, and she and Julian do a lot of their work together. I think she’s brought an enormous amount to the show.

I do think there is something great about having something that comes out of a single voice in a single perspective. There’s something pure about it. I like the theater for that reason — you’re sort of there to serve somebody’s vision of the world and help them fully articulate their perspective. Even if there are places you might bump up against that perspective yourself, your job as an actor is to commit to it and help their vision be be realized.

ComingSoon was able to go hands-on with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ubisoft’s upcoming reinvention of the beloved series. The first entry since 2010’s The Forgotten Sands, it is a promising and fresh entry in the series that hearkens back to the roots of Jordan Mechner’s original game while also moving the franchise forward. This is promising news, as the game is out on January 18, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, PC, and Xbox.

The game is a throwback of sorts, going back to the 2D gameplay of the original release. However, rather than play like the game that revolutionized cinematic platforming, it’s more in the vein of a modern Metroidvania title. You’ll be getting new abilities and backtracking to reach previously inaccessible areas. It’s not revolutionary, but it relies on a familiar setup that still proves quite satisfying and is bolstered by some really great combat.

What helps The Lost Crown stand out within the Metroidvania genre is its parry-based combat system. Your character, the warrior Sargon, is able to parry most attacks and strike back with powerful counters. Not only do these attacks change the tide of battle, but they also build up a meter that can then be used to trigger special attacks (such as powerful combos and even one that drops a healing beacon). This creates a really great risk-reward cycle as players are rewarded for smart play that incorporates parrying and makes it a regular part of the combat rather than an advanced maneuver.

I played the opening three hours of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which was incredibly encouraging. While movement is measured at first, you soon earn an air dash that really opens up transversal. This makes getting around the environment much more fun and opens up combat opportunities, too, as you can dodge enemies and move across space quickly. All the ingredients are here for it to be something special.

The best moments in The Lost Crown were the boss fights, which were challenging yet fulfilling. These really rely on the ability to parry, plus careful usage of your special attacks. Any lapses in attention could lead to Sargon taking significant damage, so you have to play smart and skillful, tempering your attack as being overly aggressive can lead to taking damage.

The demo’s greatest moment came in a battle against a towering boss called Jahandar, which was a giant winged and horned creature. While it took several attempts to beat the foe, it was by and far the most fun I had. Winning the fight felt as if it was a real accomplishment of pattern recognition and patience.

I can’t wait to check out Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in full when it comes out in January. It looks incredibly promising with a slick style, rewarding gameplay, and some interesting story teases that hopefully will pay off in a unique way. It’s rocketed up my list of anticipated games and has all the makings of a successful revival for the series.

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke to Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget director Sam Fell about what makes the Chicken Run sequel differ from the beloved original. The film debuts on Netflix on December 15, 2023.

“Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream — a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk — this time, they’re breaking in!”

Tyler Treese: I really enjoyed the addition of Molly. It’s such a fresh dynamic, and the character’s wonderfully voiced by Bella Ramsey. The character is naturally naive to the world, but she wants to explore it. Can you speak to focusing the story on her wanting to go outside the island, which is all she’s really known?

Sam Fell: I suppose I identified with Molly most, actually, and it was great for me as a new director to have a new character and a new point of view to latch onto. Because the first movie is very precious and very beloved, and obviously, Ginger and Rocky were the center of that movie. It was a romantic comedy. It was about this playboy, an American coming into this henhouse and this very serious British woman. Molly gave me a way in.

I mean, obviously, it’s the next chapter of Ginger’s story, and the next challenge for her is motherhood. The thing that really drove it was thinking about Ginger, actually. Because all she ever wanted was the green grass between her toes. She’s dreamed and dreamed and dreamed about that. It was her desire that drove the entire movie of the first one, and so she gets it at the end of the movie.

So we were like, well, how are we gonna challenge that? What’s her next challenge? It just seemed really a great idea to say, so she’s got freedom and here it is, and she’s made it beautiful. It’s a paradise. It’s like chicken Wakanda, right? It’s sort of safe from the world. It’s got all of the technology that chickens need. It’s hidden. She brings Molly into this world, and she says to Molly, “Here you go, Molly, here it is freedom. It’s all yours, and you can stay here forever.”

It just seemed like it would be the biggest shock for Ginger for her daughter to turn around and go, “This is not freedom for me,” and to be a freedom seeker just like Ginger, but seek it in a different way and want to go off the island. At the same time, I mean, interestingly, personally, my son was a child when I started this project, and he grew up and left home during the whole project. So I’ve kind of personal experience in watching and knowing that you have to let go as a parent, and knowing actually that kids have to go and seek their own adventure outside of the bubble.

It’s such a great evolution of the original themes. What I love about this is rather than an escape, this movie is very much a heist movie. It’s very in the vein of Mission: Impossible when it gets going. So how was it finding a fun twist on that formula? Because it would’ve been so easy to do a retread, but this is much more rewarding for fans.

Sam Fell: I mean, that was the risk, you know, because I adore the first movie, so many people do, and it’s a challenge to kind of move away from that, but I’m glad we did. The first movie had this logline that kind of unlocked it. It was “The Great Escape with chickens.” That was the summary of that, and it unlocked.

So, with this movie, we were always looking for something like that to unlock this. To kind of set it off again. It was, “This time, they’re breaking in,” and as soon as someone said that, it just instantly conjured up all these images of the chickens with clever props, funny sort of visual humor, and all the ingenuity that goes into a Mission: Impossible action sequence, but done with chickens and pencils and bottles and domestic objects. Just that one line simply made us smile, you know?

The latest premium PlayStation controller to hit the market is the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro. Touting compatibility with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, the controller is quite versatile where it can be used. It comes in black and white variants and retails for $199.90, so it’s a high-end controller designed for players seeking optimal performance. It certainly delivers in that aspect, although it doesn’t do laps around its competitors due to a few issues.

Order the Revolution 5 Pro

The Revolution 5 Pro makes a great first impression as it comes packed in a lovely case that holds the controller, its cable, Bluetooth dongle, and plenty of customizability options. Switching between platforms is simple, as the buttons on the back allow you to quickly change between PS5, PS5, and PC. Profiles (of which you can have four per platform) are also easily switched, and there are four additional buttons in the back, which make it an optimal controller for remapping controls.

The standouts are the analog sticks, which are incredibly precise. This is thanks to the magnetic Hall effect technology that has been used, which eliminates stick drift and increases both precision and durability. This makes it ideal for playing shooters, in particular, and is a big advantage to using the Revolution 5 Pro.

As mentioned, perhaps the biggest strength of the Revolution 5 Pro is its ability to be customized. There are two directional pads that are easily swapped, three stick sizes, different analog stick tops, plus the ability to change the trigger pull distance. My only complaint here is that I don’t love either directional pad included, as I far prefer what Microsoft’s Elite controller has.

One really nice touch that isn’t seen often and sets the Revolution 5 Pro apart is the ability to add in weights to the controller. Both handles are able to be removed so you can put weights in, allowing for a heavier, more sturdy feel. If you prefer to play without the weights, you’ll find the base controller is quite light. With three sets of weights, the choice is yours on how much you want the controller to weigh and that’s the type of nice touch I really appreciate from Nacon.

The PlayStation 5 compatibility is a big selling point for the Revolution 5 Pro, but it’s worth noting that two of the system’s best features, the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, don’t work here. Most competitive players won’t be bothered, but it does mean this won’t be the best controller for every situation, as if you’re playing a single-player, more cinematic experience you’ll want to use a controller that gives you the more immersive experience. It’s a small drawback but one that is noticeable.

There’s a lot to like about the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro, especially if you’re looking for a customizable controller. With onboard profiles and quick switches, plus interchangeable sticks, directional pad, and weights, you can really tailor it for what you want. There are a few downsides, such as not being able to enjoy the PS5 haptics and the lack of adaptive triggers, but it winds up being a strong alternative to both the DualSense Edge and Razer Wolverine V2 Pro controllers. Which one you prefer will ultimately come down to your wants and desires but you can’t go wrong here.

Apple TV+ has released the Masters of the Air trailer for the World War II series led by Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan. The show is set to debut its first two episodes on the streaming platform on Friday, January 26, 2024, followed by one new episode every Friday through March 15, 2024.

The series “follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the ‘Bloody Hundredth’) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air,” reveals the official description. “Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich is at the heart of Masters of the Air. Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.”

Expend4bles (or The Expendables 4 if you’re less fun) felt a bit out of place when it was released earlier this year. Sylvester Stallone took a backseat, allowing Jason Statham to eat up the bulk of the screentime. The newcomers to the cast — led by “50 Cent,” Megan Fox, and Andy Garcia — were fun but lacked a bit of star power for the series, which has boasted every action legend from Mel Gibson and “JCVD” to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris. However, revisiting the movie with expectations set appropriately reveals an action film that delivers a fun, popcorn-worthy affair even if it doesn’t feel as big as its predecessors.

Buy Expend4bles on 4K and Blu-ray

“A new generation of stars is added to the adrenaline-fueled adventure of The Expendables as action legends Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture are joined for the first time by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Andy Garcia,” says the synopsis. “As the highly skilled mercenaries take on an arms dealer and his private army with every weapon they can get their hands on, the new recruits bring daring styles and tactics that give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”

As noted, this is more of a Statham movie with some recognizable co-stars rather than the full-on star-filled ensemble films that previous entries were. A lot of the film takes place on a ship, which isn’t the most interesting locale, and keeps the action locked to one location. It’s a bit smaller in scope, but that isn’t totally a bad thing as Statham is up for the task, and there are some interesting scenes dealing with the new group dynamic after Stallone exits the main story early on.

Some of the CGI isn’t great, and the film lacks a lot of the bigger set pieces that The Expendables 2 and 3 excelled at. However, there are two additions that really make this a fun movie — Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa. Both action movie veterans deliver some great fights throughout the back half of the movie, with Statham vs. Uwais being particularly fun. Fox is also good in a supporting role, with her chemistry really working well opposite Statham, and I wouldn’t be against seeing another adventure with the group, although the disappointing box-office returns don’t make it very likely.

There are two substantial and well-edited featurettes on the home release. The 17-minute “Bigger, Bolder, Badder: The Expendables In Action” takes a look at how some of the action scenes were done and features good interviews with the production staff. Particularly cool to see is how the motorcycle stunt on the ship was done, as they wanted a practical approach. Clocking in at 19 minutes is “More Than A Team: New Blood Meets Old Blood,” which focuses on the cast being a mixture of fresh faces and returning veterans. It gives a fun look at Stallone’s process while also including some insight from the actors.

The real highlight of the 4K is the audio commentary by director Scott Waugh. He winds up being quite forthcoming throughout the commentary, discussing some production issues and how certain elements came together late or on the fly. Waugh’s passion also shines through, and it makes for a really interesting watch to see how the team approached the sequel. Whether you found it underwhelming or a fun extension of The Expendables, the commentary is worth checking out and will give you an added appreciation for what’s here.

Expend4bles 4K Review: The Final Verdict

The Expend4bles 4K release completes the series — for now, at least — and delivers some solid action and quite a few laughs. While it isn’t quite as star-filled as past films, the hand-to-hand action between Statham, Iwais, and Jaa really comes through and is some of the series’ best. The commentary and featurettes are all worth watching, adding some additional value to a film that is sure to appeal to action fans.

The Fallout teaser trailer has been released for Amazon’s upcoming television adaptation of the hit video game franchise. It will begin streaming on Prime Video on April 12, 2024.

“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” reads the synopsis. “200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Fallout takes place in the 1940s after a nuclear war. The television series will feature Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as showrunners.
Fallout is a series of role-playing games that began in 1997. Set in a post-apocalyptic 1950s-themed United States, the Fallout series puts players in the role of various wanderers and survivors as they freely traverse an American wasteland filled with mutants, radiated animals, and bandits. The next mainline title, Fallout 5, will apparently enter development once The Elder Scrolls VI is completed.

Sony Pictures has released the first Madame Web trailer for its upcoming Spider-Man spin-off movie set in its Spider-Man universe.

“In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines,” says the synopsis. “The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures… if they can all survive a deadly present.”

Check out the Madame Web trailer below (watch more trailers):

Who is in Madame Web?

Sony’s Madame Web is led by Dakota Johnson as the titular Spider-Man character. Joining Johnson are Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), along with Golden Globe nominee Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps (The Upshaws), and Adam Scott (Severance).

Created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980, Madame Web is a blind psychic who has become a major player in the world of Spider-Man due to her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal construct that ties all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.

Madame Web is being directed by S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) from a screenplay written by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
